The pheasant coucal is a ground dwelling cuckoo that prefers to run rather than fly, usually lifting less than 3 metres from the ground when disturbed. It is unlike other cuckoos in that it builds its own nest and raises its own young.

An agile wallaby joey, (baby) standing about two feet (60cm) high. Distinguished from other species of wallaby by the white hip stripe. He is a regular visitor in my friend’s back yard. He left his mother’s pouch about 3 weeks ago.
